Thee Oh Sees Release New Track
San Francisco’s favorite local psych-garage-rock outfit Thee Oh Sees recently released a sneak peek at their upcoming album – a confident and ethereal track, “Lupine Dominus”.
Thee Oh Sees announced last month the plans to release their 14th full-length album, Putrifiers II on September 11th. This news isn’t surprising for fans familiar with the band’s vast discography and habitual and frequent free shows.
The real question on our minds is what the new album will sound like. “Lupine Dominus” rings in with a sharp wail, giving way to a groove-worthy bass line that carries the song onward. The harmonization of John Dwyer and keyboardist/vocalist Brigid Dawson’s vocals creates an ethereal spirit that runs throughout. Midway through the song, ears are treated with the addition of an organ, giving the song the essence of a haunted boardwalk straight out of old Scooby-Doo cartoons. “Lupine Dominus” suggests that Putrifiers II will be a response to the sounds heard on Carrion Crawler/The Dream.
Following the release of the new album on September 11th, Thee Oh Sees will embark on tour alongside fellow Bay Area garage-rocker Ty Segall.
