With a name inspired by the infamous story of Bonnie and Clyde, Oakland natives Bonnie & the BANG BANG  have been known to get barefoot when they go onstage to deliver smooth, folk-inspired indie rock. Bonnie & the BANG BANG are one of the seven bands hoping for your vote to play at The Lineup showcase on June 13th at Brick and Mortar Music Hall.

Band Name: Bonnie & the BANG BANG

Hometown: Oakland/ San Francisco, CA

Born Date: 6/1/11

Sounds Like: Modest Mouse, Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s, Good Old War, Bright Eyes

Fun Fact: The moniker “Bonnie & the BANG BANG” is an allusion to the classic American true story of Bonnie & Clyde. BANG BANG is the sound her Thompson submachine gun might have made. The name represents a provocative balance of grace and violence.

Most Memorable Show: Late last year, halfway through the set in Patrick and Joe’s hometown of Tracy CA, the entire crowd of took off their shoes and put them in a pile on stage as a sign of approval. That was a pretty amazing moment. (Patrick and Joe are usually barefoot when they play live.)

When not making music, find them at: dance parties, doing the electric boogaloo.

The Lineup is on June 13th at Brick & Mortar Music Hall. Voting for The Lineup ends on June 1st, and you can cast your vote HERE.
