With new producers popping up anywhere in the world at a constant rate, it sometimes becomes hard to really enjoy an artist as they slowly build their catalog. Not the case with David Heartbreak who delivers amazing music as well as remix compilations on a regular basis. He DJs at Monarch on Saturday, January 21.

In our Best Albums of 2011 post I named Heartbreak’s Moombahsoul II as one of my top five albums of the year. While that and the two other Moombahsoul compilations may be relaxing to listen to, Heartbreak consistently changes it up and shines light on many styles of music. Enjoy a few favorites from him and hit the dancefloor Saturday, January 21 to watch the magic live.

Heartbreak “Cloud 9″
Down tempo with a taste of trap percussion.

Dev “Dancing in the Dark” (Heartbreak Moombahton Remix)
Pop song given the moombahton treatment.

Heartbreak “Love & Hate”
Emotional moombahsoul.

Heartbreak “Elmo”
Thinly veiled electronic ode to party favors, bouncy.

Fever: Heartbreak and Friends is this Saturday, January 21 at Monarch from 9pm-2am for $7. More info.
