This Saturday, SOM hosts local DJ B. Bravo’s release party for his new EP, Kiss ‘n’ Tell. Along for the ride is Starship Connection, a synthesizer funk / future bass quartet featuring Bay Area instrumentalists Teeko (F.A.M.E./FourOne Funk), Daren Grant (Bayonics), and Bob Menacho (Bayonics).

As B. Bravo puts it himself, “The whole Kiss ‘n’ Tell EP has a sensual, uplifting theme and the tracks are inspired by life, really. I absorb what I like and put my own spin on it, and try to take it one step further. Just want to make stuff that’s true and timeless.”

Take a listen to the teaser below.

Also playing is Bay Area original K-Maxx. You might know him from his two acclaimed underground hip hop albums during the Bay’s initial reign in the ’90s, or his radio show “Ghetto Gumbo” which can still be heard Friday Nights, 10 PM til 2 AM on KPOO in San Francisco. Currently fresh off the release of his newest single “Supadrunk,” K-Maxx will be holding it down along with Bay Area’s own Sweater Funk DJs. Don’t miss a night of funky fresh beats with some of the Bay’s finest.

Tickets are $5 presale, and $10 at the door.
