Remembrance: DJ Mehdi

The music community mourns today after the loss of one of it’s most respected DJs and producers. This morning French record label Ed Banger confirmed the death of it’s longtime artist DJ Mehdi at the young age of 34 following Tweets from both Chromeo and Drake.

One of the most charismatic and friendly DJs, Mehdi had a presence to him unlike any other. Known for his blending of hard French techno and electro with hip hop, he lit up dancefloors worldwide on a regular basis, released several albums and remixes, and worked closely with artists like Daft Punk and Busy P. He had recently formed the duo Carte Blanche with British Techno producer Riton.

Enjoy the songs below and remember this legendary artist through his uplifting music. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

Really saddened about this news. Saw Mehdi this summer at Mad Decent Block Party in NY- good but brief set. This will surely touch a lot of people
